when Jesus came by, he looked up at zacchaeus and called him by name. “zacchaeus!” he said. “quick, come down! i must be a guest in your home today.”
zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy."

i was never that girl.
just this past year i met michael grubbs (of wakey!wakey!) and i think katy was amazed that i didn't faint. i had made such a big deal about going to the concert. coworkers were braced for me never to come back to work. they were sure that i was going to jump in the tour bus and run off with the band. sure, i really dig his music and yes, i find him extremely attractive, but the truth is that all the hype was just for show. when i finally met him that night we had a short dialogue, i got his signature and a photo, then said goodnight.i sometimes wonder if i'd be the same with Christ.
i don't often question, "what would Jesus do?" but i do sometimes wonder, "what would i do if i were face to face with Jesus?" is this faith just for show? is the hype just an act? or is this love real. would i wait patiently in a long line to get his signature and a goofy picture? or would i desperately run to the front and faint at the sight of such wondrous stardom?
would you climb a tree just to get a better look at Jesus?
or would you be content in standing at the back of the crowd?
because Jesus didn't go home with just anyone that day. He went home with the man who was willing to take a risk and look foolish, just to get a glimpse of his Savior.
